Sheets as a Met? Let's take a look.

Ben Sheets is a free agent. His arm has question marks after the elbow shut him down at the most crucial part of the Brewers' season last year. Jerry Crasnick does a great job looking into the situation about Sheets resigning with the Brewers or going somewhere else. Here is my thought. The Brewers will take him back because there is not a chance in he@! that C.C. Sabathia will sign with them. Consequently, they will need Sheets back and will undoubtedly get a little bit of a bargain. Not much, but a little. His agent, Casey Close, says the injury equates to a hamstring injury that just needed time to heal, He did throw 190+ innings last year and set a career high with 13 wins. He is a great strike out to walk guy, at 3.85-1. I would love the Mets to get him. I do not see the Yankees as players after the Pavano debacle and some other teams will obviously shy away or not have the money, Dodgers (remember Jason Schmidt?). Do you think at this point in his career he would sign with an irrelevant team like the Orioles or Rangers? My feeling is, if he does leave the Brew Crew, the Mets would have a good shot at him for like 3 yrs-$36 million. I would love to see a rotation of Santana, Sheets, Maine, Pelfrey, and Niese or someone via trade. Sign me up!
